Caterina Lamuta was recently awarded a prestigious Young Investigator Award from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop new self-morphing, stretchable soft skins (S⁴) for use in underwater vehicles and robots.

The University of Iowa's Computer Science and Engineering major has received its inaugural accreditation from ABET, the worldwide gold standard for producing graduates ready for technical fields. It is one of only 13 programs nationwide and one of two in the Big 10 conference.
