Manny Villafaña, who received a University of Iowa Honorary Doctor of Science degree, has been named the 2016 Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA) Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for his many significant contributions to the medical device industry. 

Greg Carmichael, Karl Kammermeyer Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, is co-author of a paper published in Environmental Science & Technology, calling for collaboration to better understand how air pollution impacts health.
