Harriet B. Nembhard, head of the School of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Oregon State University, has been appointed as the dean of the University of Iowa College of Engineering. She will begin her role on June 29, overseeing a multidisciplinary college with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Nembhard's expertise in industrial engineering and operations research will contribute to advancing complex systems in manufacturing and healthcare.

Faculty members from the University of Iowa's College of Engineering and Carver College of Medicine, Michael Abramoff, Joseph Reinhardt, and Punam Saha, have been named IEEE Fellows for their contributions in artificial intelligence, medical image processing, and bone microstructural imaging, respectively.
