Faculty members from the University of Iowa's College of Engineering and Carver College of Medicine, Michael Abramoff, Joseph Reinhardt, and Punam Saha, have been named IEEE Fellows for their contributions in artificial intelligence, medical image processing, and bone microstructural imaging, respectively.

Yue Pan, a graduate student in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Iowa, received a Ballard and Seashore Dissertation award for her research on improving lung cancer treatment using medical image registration techniques. She was also recognized by International Education Week as a notable graduate student.
