Two faculty and a staff member of the University of Iowa College of Engineering were recognized with Career Impact Awards by the Pomerantz Career Center.

Jennifer Fiegel, professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, will serve a three-year term on the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Societal Impact Operating Council (SIOC).

C. Allan Guymon, University of Iowa professor chemical and biochemical engineering, has been elected as a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Fiegel and her team examined how exhaled bioaerosols—droplets produced from the lung during breathing, coughing, and sneezing—are produced from lung-like surfaces during a cough.
