University of Iowa Chemical and Biochemical Engineering: Celebrating 100 Years

Join us in celebrating a century of groundbreaking research and education as the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering turns 100 in 2026.

To mark this milestone, we are hosting a series of events for faculty, staff, students, and alumni, beginning in April with the Milestone Celebration, which included the Carmichael Symposium and Milestone Banquet.

In addition, there are a number of other activities that you may wish to participate in throughout the year, such as the CBE advisory board meetings, the AIChE student regional conference hosted at UI, the Honored Alumni Awards, a History of CBE exhibition in the Lichtenberger Library, the Centennial Reception, milestone seminars, and more.

Events will be added to this page as they are scheduled. We hope to see you!
