The Infrastructure Engineering graduate program focuses on structural and transportation systems within the built environment. The program offers unique opportunities for students to participate research and education in areas such as optimization of infrastructure systems, structural health monitoring, highway pavement materials and rehabilitation, and surface transportation infrastructure. Students can also participate in a practicum with engineering professionals focused on design of real-world structural systems. Within Infrastructure Engineering, there are two areas of technical specialization: Structures, Mechanics, and Materials (SMM), and Transportation Infrastructure (TI), and one cross-cutting area called Resilient Infrastructure Systems.
