Two civil and environmental engineering students have been recognized by University of Iowa's Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) for their service within the organization.

Moala Bannavti, a Ph.D. student focusing on sustainable water development, received the Dean's Achievement Award and GPSG Chair of the Year Award for her service as the diversity, equity, and inclusion chair during the 2019-20 academic year.

Christian Bako, a Ph.D. candidate in environmental engineering, received David L. Grady Joint Exemplary Service Award. Christian served as the sustainability co-chair for GPSG during the 2019-20 academic year.
