University of Iowa College of Engineering students worked in at least 15 different states for 77 different organizations, gaining experience in quality control, program management, design, structures, transportation, and many more fields.  

Gregory R. Carmichael, University of Iowa’s Karl Kammermeyer Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, will lead a new international initiative of the United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) called the Global Greenhouse Gas Watch (G3W).

Charles Stanier, a professor of chemical and biochemical engineering in the College of Engineering who studies climate and the health effects of airborne contaminants, has been actively following and analyzing the air quality in our region and offers his expertise on the potential environmental effects of the wildfire smoke from western Ontario, Canada, that has made its way into Iowa.

Ann F. McKenna, vice dean of strategic advancement at the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University and professor of engineering in the Polytechnic School, has been named dean of the University of Iowa College of Engineering. She will begin on Aug. 16.

On April 24th, the College of Engineering recognized faculty, staff, and a PhD student at the CoE Excellence Awards celebration.

Four University of Iowa faculty members are recipients of the 2023 President and Provost Award for Teaching Excellence, recognizing their exceptional and ongoing contributions to student learning and success.

Parham Parnian, a PhD student in chemical and biochemical engineering, was honored for his work to accelerate new therapies for infection.

University of Iowa Engineering Professor Gregory Carmichael is leading a study into the links between exposure to air pollution and human health and crop yields in hopes of generating improved and innovative public health and air quality interventions.
