| Frank Attere Start Up Leader, Procter & Gamble, Iowa City, IA Frank Attere is the Start Up Leader at the Procter and Gamble (P&G) Iowa City Oral Care plant. He is the operational lead for bringing in a new manufacturing line to continue expanding P&G’s manufacturing capabilities in the Midwest. Prior to P&G, Frank has worked for numerous manufacturing companies such as HNI, ACP Incorporated, and General Mills, with his efforts primarily focused on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. Frank received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa. He and his wife, Jessica, currently live in North Liberty with their two kids, Liam and Theo. |
| Beth Westlake Blanco Design Quality Engineer, Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), Coralville, IA Beth Westlake Blanco, P.E. received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa in 2007. She went on to earn Masters of Science Degrees from the University of Iowa in Industrial Engineering (2009), Urban and Regional Planning (2010), and Civil Engineering (2016). Beth is the Design Quality Engineer at Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) in Coralville, Iowa. Prior to IDT, Beth served as Quality Systems Manager at D+R International, an energy efficiency consulting firm based in the Washington, DC, area, and 5 years in various roles at Procter and Gamble Iowa City Oral Care. |
| Jeffery Bolander Vice President of Operations, AY McDonald, Dubuque, IA At AY McDonald Industries, Jeff has overall responsibility for leading multiple manufacturing plants and foundry operations in the U.S. Prior to joining AY McDonald, he served as Director of Operations at Whirlpool for ~2 years and managed multiple N.A. plants at CNH Industrial for 21 years. He began his manufacturing career at Federal Mogul in 1993, as a supervisor/quality engineer in Burlington, IA (his hometown). Jeff is a U.S. Air Force Veteran, where he served eight years as a defense intelligence analyst for the NSA in Europe and the Far East theatres. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland, Asian Division (Japan) in Business Management and is currently certified as a World Class Manufacturing “WCM” auditor. He joined the University of Iowa Industrial and Systems Engineering Advisory Board in 2020 and is a former member of the Wichita State University Industrial Advisory Board. |
| Jeff DeGrange Chief Commercial Officer, Impossible Objects Incorporated, Chicago, IL Jeff DeGrange is the current chief commercial officer of Impossible Objects Incorporated, a 3D carbon fiber technology company. Jeff is the former vice president for Stratasys, where he focused on delivering additive manufacturing products and services in Minneapolis, MN. Prior to that, Jeff was The Boeing Company's department head of advanced manufacturing materials, technologies for Boeing Defense and commercial aircraft in St. Louis, Seattle and Southern CA. Jeff is the co-founder and chairman of Germany’s Direct Manufacturing Research Center in Paderborn, Germany. He is also a lifetime Society of Manufacturing Engineers Technical Fellow. Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis (1997) and Bachelor of Science Industrial Engineering from University of Iowa (1986). |
| Ryan Donner Plant Manager: Furniture Division - HNI Corporation, Muscatine, IA Ryan Donner graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering in 2007. He has since completed his MBA through the University of Iowa in 2016. He has 10+ years of manufacturing engineering and leadership experience. Ryan is currently a Plant Manager for HNI Corporation in their furniture division. |
| Thomas Ferris Associate Professor, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX Dr. Thomas Ferris received his BS in industrial engineering from the University of Iowa in 2003, and his PhD from the University of Michigan. He is currently an Associate Professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University and the co-director of the Center for Health Organization Transformation (CHOT). The mission of CHOT is to coordinate collaborative projects among engineers, health scientists, and industry members to address the real-world challenges facing healthcare industries. |
| Robert Fuhrmann Managing Director, Accenture, Chicago, IL Robert Fuhrmann is a managing director in Accenture’s Supply Chain, Operations, and Sustainability Strategy group and leads the North American Sourcing and Procurement (S&P) and Strategic Cost Takeout practice. Mr. Fuhrmann is based out of the Chicago Office and has been with Accenture for over 20 years. He is a 1998 graduate from the UI College of Engineering with a degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing. |
| Phil Hawbaker Director, Business Development JGA, Supply Chain Consulting Phil Hawbaker graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Finance in 2011. He has spent the past 8 years working in the software industry working with clients implementing supply chain solutions in a variety of industries. Currently, he and his wife live in the Cedar Rapids area where he enjoys golfing and running when they aren't traveling. |
| Cara Hull Chief Quality Officer, HealthPartners Cara Hull is the Chief Quality Officer for HealthPartners, a large integrated health care system in the upper Midwest. She provides strategic leadership and direction of clinical quality, clinical education, patient safety, experience, quality data analytics, and the lean quality improvement program. Cara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa and a Master of Business Administration from the Carlson school of management at the University of Minnesota. She completed the executive leadership program at Northwestern Kellogg School of Management and is a certified health care insurance executive (CHIE). |
| Christina Kelling Competency Lead for Assembly, Manufacturing Design, and Industrial Engineering, John Deere In her current position, Christina (Chris) Kelling works with the John Deere factories to define and deploy common strategy, processes, tools, and training for these competencies across the enterprise. Throughout her 25-year career with John Deere, she has held various positions within manufacturing engineering, project management, production control, factory automation, and quality. Chris received her Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering with an emphasis in Power Machinery from Iowa State University. |
Andrew Kiekhaefer Lead Data Scientist, John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group Andrew Kiekhaefer is a Lead Data Scientist for John Deere, where he is responsible for the management and technical oversight of the Enterprise Analytics Enablement team within John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group. He is based out of the Quad Cities and has been with John Deere for over 10 years. Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa. | |
Morgan Price Apple Computer Morgan Price is a human factors engineer on Apple’s Design Team and a proud Iowa alum. In 2013 she earned a BSE in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa and continued on to earned an MS in Epidemiology. In 2019 she earned a PhD and an MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. | |
| Derrick Richmann Senior Manager Value Stream Leader, Collins Aerospace, an RTX Business Derrick Richmann received his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Iowa in 2007. He went on earn a Master's of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 2011. Derrick is a Value Stream Leader within Collins Aerospace Mission Systems business, responsible for program financial performance and customer management throughout the full life cycle. The team Derrick is part of focuses on developing integrated airborne solutions for the U.S. warfighters. Derrick's been with Collins Aerospace since 2007. Prior to becoming a value stream leader, he held various roles within operations: engineering, production quality, supply chain quality, and subcontracts management. Derrick is a life-long Iowa Hawkeye fan and works to get back on campus as much as possible for sports and fine arts events. |
| Daniel Rogge CEO, Tormach Inc., Waunakee, WI Daniel Rogge, CEO of Tormach Inc., has a diverse background that includes experience as a professional metal fabricator, educator, motion control engineer, and software developer. Mr. Rogge holds a BA from Grinnell College, and an MS in Industrial Engineering with a focus on manufacturing from the University of Iowa. He continues to focus professionally on what he spent his time doing as a teaching assistant at the University of Iowa: helping people make things. |
