Parham Parnian, a PhD candidate in chemical and biochemical engineering, has been selected for the University of Iowa’s downtown banner campaign, Dare To Discover. He is developing new treatments for bacterial infections commonly found on medical implants.
Jacob Fuhrmeister, a graduate student studying mechanical engineering, has been selected for a SMART scholarship through the U.S. Department of Defense to develop materials that can better withstand hypersonic travel.
Emily Shull, a PhD candidate in industrial and systems engineering, received the SAFER-SIM Excellence Award and the University Transportation Center Outstanding Student of the Year award, for her work in transportation research.
