As we reflect on another formative year in the College of Engineering, I am delighted to share with you this snapshot of our work in this year’s Annual Report. Moreover, it is good to be on campus and to see our colleagues, students, alumni, and partners.

We continue to emphasize and build on our strengths in engineering for human health, the environment, and emerging technologies. Importantly, we recognize that these areas of distinction are not mutually exclusive and represent another way that our path-breaking research, teaching, and engagement is a shared effort.

While undergraduate enrollment is slightly lower than last year, post-graduation placement (i.e., finding employment or enrolling in graduate school) increased to 95%. Graduate enrollment continues to be strong, and our students have made tremendous strides as innovators and researchers.

Our award-winning faculty have been engaged in groundbreaking work as evidenced in part by research expenditures that exceeded $48.7M. Our margin of excellence has been undergirded by more than $5.7M in giving. I invite you to read this Annual Report as well as visit our updated website at engineering.uiowa.edu for more details and news about our college.

Thank you for your continued engagement with the College of Engineering as we look forward to many more years of success and growth.
