A new research publication by Jerry Schnoor, a University of Iowa civil and environmental engineering professor and Allen S. Henry Chair in Engineering, has been selected for the ACS Editors’ Choice program.

The controversial artificial intelligence chatbot called ChatGPT could pass the exam required to become a licensed professional engineer in the United States, according to the findings of a University of Iowa College of Engineering study. 

Inventions of two University of Iowa College of Engineering faculty members have been licensed for commercial use. They are the latest technology transfer examples in which research emerging from UI laboratories is spun-out to a private company for broader public benefit
