The 2026 Honored Engineering Alumni class was recognized during a banquet at Kinnick Stadium on April 16, 2026. 

From an inventor to a professor to a data scientist for the National Basketball Association, the class reflected the wide range of career paths and achievements attained by alumni.

While in senior engineering and facilities leadership roles at John Deere, Driscoll directed large-scale capital projects across North America and six additional countries.

As operations manager at Banta (later acquired by RR Donnelley), a printing and logistics services company, Aden was responsible for all production, warehouse, and industrial engineering functions on the site in Houston, Texas.

The retired technology executive has over 40 years of experience in communications, specializing in IP routing, optical systems and components, and intelligent optical interconnects, including leading Acacia Communications from startup to acquisition.

Kargarzadeh is the founder, president, and CEO of Engineered Plastic Components, a leading manufacturer of injection-molded plastic products serving the automotive, appliance, medical, and consumer product industries.

Erik Nylen

Roy J. Carver Department of Biomedical Engineering Award

Erik Nylen (2008 BSE, 2010 MS)

Nylen co-authored the textbook Neural Data Science and has been with the National Basketball Association since 2019, where he is currently the vice president of data science.
