Greg LeFevre, assistant professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering and a researcher at IIHR-Hydroscience & Engineering, has been named Early Career Scholar of the Year by the university's Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR).

The award honors assistant professors in tenure-track, research-track or clinical-track at the University of Iowa who are currently involved in research, scholarship and/or creative activity and show promise of making a significant contribution to their field. 

LeFevre’s research focuses on transforming emerging contaminants using bacteria, plants, fungi, and innovative filtration materials in green stormwater practices, such as rain gardens. LeFevre works through the Iowa Stormwater Education Partnership to communicate stormwater quality research to practitioners and municipalities across the state.
