A great Hawkeye Homecoming tradition will return to the Pentacrest in Iowa City! The Homecoming Corn Monument will be on display throughout the week of homecoming at the University of Iowa on the west side of the Old Capital Building. The monument is being constructed by multiple UI student organizations including ASCE, Nexus, FACE, and CAB. The origin of this monument dates back to 1914, but was discontinued until recently when student interest sparked its comeback. This year's monument will be highlighting the 80th anniversary of Nile Kinnick winning the Heisman Trophy. This monument does not only represent the legacy of Kinnick, it also boasts a strong pride in our State's agricultural background. The monument has previously been featured on TV networks such as ESPN prior to football games. Come by and see the monument in person from October 14-21st!
