Each year, Donald F. & Mildred Topp Othmer Scholarship Awards 15 AIChE student members a scholarship of $1,000. Awards are presented on the basis of academic achievement and involvement in student chapter activities.
AIChE Outstanding Sophomore Award

The Sophomore Academic Excellence Award is presented to the one AIChE student member in each student chapter who has attained the highest scholastic grade-point average during his/her freshman and sophomore years, on recommendation of the Student Chapter Advisor.

The problem's solution requires a wide range of skills in calculation and evaluation of both technical data and economic factors. The SAChE award is presented to teams and individuals from the AIChE Student Design Competition for designs that apply appropriate principles of chemical process safety.
Safety & Health Division National Design Competition Award for Inherently Safer Design

There will be up to four awards ($600 each) for the appropriate application of inherent safety in the designs from the individual and team AIChE Student Design Competitions. A subcommittee of the Safety and Health Division will evaluate and pick the award recipients.
