College of Engineering students named to the University of Iowa President's and Dean's Lists, along with the Fall Academic Big Ten List, were recently recognized for their achievements.

More than 350 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa were named to the president’s list for the 2017 fall semester. Sixty-five of those were engineering students.

The president’s list was established in the fall of 1983 to recognize academic excellence.  In order to be included on the list, a student must have a minimum 4.0 grade point average in all academic subjects for the preceding two semesters, with a total of at least 12 semester hours of credit per semester during that period.

More than 5,000 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa were named to the Fall 2017 Dean’s List. The guidelines for inclusion on the list are as follows:

Undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering, the Tippie College of Business, and University College who achieve a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher on 12 semester hours or more of UI graded coursework during a given semester or summer session and who have no semester hours of “I” (incomplete) or “O” (no grade reported) during the same semester are recognized by inclusion on the dean’s list for that semester.

The Big Ten Conference recognized a total of 1,277 students competing in fall sports who have been named to the Academic All-Conference team.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team, as verified by being on the official squad list as of November 1 for fall sports, who have been enrolled fulltime at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
