David Frazee, chief technology officer at 3M Health Information Systems, is recipient of a Dean's Award for Distinguished Service and will be the keynote speaker at the Biomedical Engineering Senior Design Day dinner at 7:45 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the Sheraton Downtown Iowa City.

Frazee joined 3M in 2005 and previously served as vice president-engineering for Vital Images, Inc., along with holding several positions at GE. He is a member of the Biomedical Engineering Department Advisory Board and previously served as chair.

The Dean's Award for Distinguished Service is presented to alumni and non-alumni for long-term exceptional commitment and self-sacrifice in advancing the principles and goals of the University of Iowa College of Engineering -- setting an extraordinary example for aspiring students, dedicated faculty and staff, and fellow alumni.

Frazee holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from South Dakota State University and an MS degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Marquette University.
