The University of Iowa is hosting a reception from 4:00-6:00 p.m. November 28 for Chelle Lehman and Linda Varvel, two new co-directors for Women In Science and Engineering (WiSE). The reception will take place at the Old Capitol Museum (21 Old Capitol, The University of Iowa).

The part-time WiSE co-directors will provide creative leadership, coordination and assessment of initiatives to advance the recruitment and success of women in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. 

Chelle Lehman, WiSE Co-director for recruitment and outreach, will provide leadership for WISE initiatives related to recruitment of women, including working with K-12 teachers who encourage women to continue in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Linda Varvel, WiSE director of on-campus programs, will provide leadership for campus-wide programs to support the success and retention of women as students in departments across campus which are served by WiSE.
