A Little More About Me
What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?
Don't forget to stop and enjoy the moments you have here. Whether you realize it at the time or not, you're making memories every day. If you take time to cherish the little things it makes the busy weeks filled with exams and projects a little more fun!
What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?
I'm a manager for the University of Iowa baseball team which has allowed me to explore ways that engineering and data combine with sports.
How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?
Beyond the classroom I enjoy being a manager for the baseball team and cheering on the Hawkeyes in every sport I can (especially football!). I think the College of Engineering at Iowa provides many opportunities both within and outside of engineering, which has allowed me to continue pursuing my passion for sports.
Have you done any research with a professor? If so, what department was the professor and what was your research about?
Yes! I'm currently doing research with Dr. Tyler Bell in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. We are working with a doctor at Stead Family Children's Hospital to create eye training and examinations in virtual reality.
What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?
I love living in Iowa City. Every season brings something new to look forward to... from football Saturdays and the changing leaves in the fall to packing into Carver for wrestling and basketball in the winter to studying on the Pentacrest in the spring!
What has been your favorite course?
Computers in Engineering
