A Little More About Me

What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?

Don't forget to stop and enjoy the moments you have here. Whether you realize it at the time or not, you're making memories every day. If you take time to cherish the little things it makes the busy weeks filled with exams and projects a little more fun!

What have you been involved with outside of the COE?

I am an offensive data analyst for the Iowa football team. Previously I was a data analyst for the Iowa baseball team as well. I love being able to combine what I'm learning in school with something I'm so passionate about! I also play a lot of intramurals and won the Co-Ed division in flag football last year.

Who is your favorite or most impactful professor and why?

It's so hard to pick just one professor because the College of Engineering is full of so many great people, but Dr. Ruben Beltran del Rio has been very impactful on my studies because of how passionate he is for engineering. It's always fun to be in his classes because you know he's enjoying teaching and truly cares about his students.

What organizations inside the college of engineering do you belong to?

I'm the vice president of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, a member of Tau Beta Pi Honor Society and a member of Theta Tau professional fraternity.

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?

I love living in Iowa City. Every season brings something new to look forward to... from football Saturdays and the changing leaves in the fall to packing into Carver for wrestling and basketball in the winter to studying on the Pentacrest in the spring!

Have you done any research with a professor? If so, what department was the professor and what was your research about?

Yes! I'm currently doing research with Dr. Tyler Bell in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. We are working with a doctor at Stead Family Children's Hospital to create eye training and examinations in virtual reality.

Game day at Kinnick

I've had the opportunity to experience different parts of game day on the field at Kinnick and was able to bring my dad with me for the swarm last year!
