BME Drop-In Advising (Evening session)

Drop-in advising is open to sophomore, junior, and senior students.

Drop-in advising is a convenient way to meet with an academic advisor and get authorized to register. Please feel free to stop by the Student Development Center (3612 SC) on:

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 3–5 p.m.

There are NO APPOINTMENTS NEEDED!

If you participate in drop-in advising, you do not need to meet individually with your advisor to get authorized. Multiple advisors will be available to assist with any questions or concerns. In addition, our Engineering Registrar team will be available to answer questions about your progress toward degree and verify form submissions (i.e., focus area plan of study, course substitution forms, etc.).

First-year students and new transfer students - You are  REQUIRED  to meet with an advisor in an individual appointment this semester; drop-in advising will be an option for you in your next semester!

To have a great drop-in advising experience, come prepared by completing the following before attending:

  1. Request and review a new  degree audit  on MyUI.
  2. Juniors and Seniors – review your plan of study. If submitted and approved, your plan of study can be found in  Advising Notes  on MyUI. If you have submitted it and it is not yet approved, you can find it by looking at your initiated packages on  uiowa.edu.
  3. Upload your proposed courses into the  Schedule Builder  on MyUI and ensure you can build a viable schedule. Faculty advisors will check this before approving your registration.
  4. Write down any questions you have about your courses, focus area, etc.
  5. Bring a laptop with you to drop-in advising, so you can have your schedule builder, plan of study, and degree audit pulled up to share with the advisors!
