A Little More About Me

What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?

Get involved, it helps make campus feel just a little bit smaller, and you'll get to know people that you will continue to see and grow with throughout your college experience.

What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?

Circle-K International, All University Symphony Orchestra

Have you had any international experience? If so, where did you go, for how long, and what did you do?

I was planning on traveling to Greece with the Honors Program, but that was June 2020, so it was canceled

How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?

My something more is being involved with music via the orchestra and the Newman Center. I love being able play the instrument that I have played for so long.

Is there something else you'd like to tell us about yourself?

I love all things games. Video games, board games, and tabletop games are some of my favorite hobbies.

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?

Everything that is available to me. Iowa has the feel of a large university with all the sports, clubs, and resources that make a big school so great, while also getting to be in a small, tight knit engineering program.

Who is your favorite professor and why?

Tyler Bell. He is passionate about his students and his work and wants to make his classes fun and applicable to what engineers need to know.

What has been your favorite course?

Data Visualization and Data Techniques. It was so fascinating to learn about how to use R efficiently from a professor who wrote the language itself

What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?

I love playing board/card games with my roommates or at the local game store, Critical Hit. I also enjoy being outdoors, going on bike rides or playing frisbee golf.
