What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?
Hawkeye Marching Band, Iowa Pep Band, Theta Tau (professional engineering fraternity)

Have you had any international experience? If so, where did you go, for how long, and what did you do?
No, I was set to study in Valencia, Spain during summer 2020, but unfortunately, I was unable due to the global pandemic.

How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?
I'm very involved with the athletic bands on campus. I get to perform at various sporting events and cheer on the Hawkeyes!

Is there something else you'd like to tell us about yourself?
I'm a first-generation college student! (Neither of my parents have a four-year degree)

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?
My favorite part of being a student at Iowa is being able to spend my time with the amazing people I've met. Whether we're doing schoolwork, playing in the band, or just hanging out, it's the relationships built here that make the University of Iowa home.

Who is your favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor I've had is Dr. Seth Dillard, because his fun lectures got me interested in cardiovascular biomechanics and made online school a little bit more exciting.

What has been your favorite course?
I would say that Biomaterials and Biomechanics was my favorite engineering course, because it is my focus area, and I love applying the math and science skills from other classes to real world topics that I could potentially see in my future career. I also really loved taking Calligraphy I: Foundational Hands as a "Be Creative" gen ed course.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?
In my free time, I like to watch any Star Wars or reality TV content with my roommates, grab coffee/food downtown with friends, and pet any dog or cat I see in Iowa City.
