We are proud to say that industrial engineering has been ranked 39th in the 2023 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate School rankings!

The Best Graduate Schools rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinion about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research, and students. The 2023 data was collected from statistical surveys of more than 2,150 programs and from reputation surveys of more than 23,200 academics and professionals.

The graduate industrial engineering program at the University of Iowa focuses on in-depth learning and research to set you up for success in the field. Not only are you learning valuable skills, you are gaining opportunities to compete for higher salaries and achieve your goals.

The median pay for industrial engineers in 2020 was $88,950 per year and $42.76 an hour, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Employment of industrial engineers is growing faster than the average field, with about 23,000 job openings a year.

Thank you faculty, staff and students for making the University of Iowa College of Engineering and the ISE department such a great place to be. Go Hawkeyes!
