Punam Saha, professor of electrical and computer engineering and researcher at the Iowa Institute for Biomedical Engineering, has been elected a Fellow of International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).

He was recognized at the 23rd International Conference on Pattern Recognition December 4-6 in Cancun, Mexico.

Every two years, IAPR elects members to acknowledge their distinguished contributions to the field of pattern recognition and to IAPR activities.

The International Association for Pattern Recognition is an international association of non-profit, scientific or professional organizations (being national, multi-national, or international in scope) concerned with pattern recognition, computer vision, and image processing in a broad sense.
