Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) at The University of Iowa
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE, pronounced "ship") at the University of Iowa is 1 of 286 Chapters, in 7 regions, with an overall membership of 13,000+ amazing individuals. With 9,600 annual event attendees & 260 sponsors & partners
SHPE supports our members through high school, college, graduate & doctorate programs, & throughout their professional careers. In high school, students are introduced to the world of STEM at our events & through mentorship & scholarship opportunities.
Then, college students can get involved with their schools’ chapters—or start their own! Young professional members receive countless opportunities to grow, and seasoned innovators in the field mentor & give back. We view each of our members as a potential leader & a forever-member of our Familia.
