Ashley Constantino

University of Iowa (UI) chemical engineering major Ashley Constantino knows a thing or two about teamwork.

Soon, television audiences will get to see her put those skills to the test on one of America's most iconic game shows.

Constantino, a senior from Fredon, New Jersey, will appear alongside her family on Family Feud, hosted by Steve Harvey.

When: 6:30 p.m. CT on Oct. 30

Where: Amazon Prime or FOX 28 in the Iowa City market

Constantino's brother submitted the family's application to participate, launching a process that ultimately took nearly two years from application to filming.

Filming took place in February near Atlanta. Keeping the outcome a secret until the episode airs has proven to be one of the biggest challenges.

"It was especially hard to keep everything a secret when I came back from filming," she said. "Now, there is so much excitement to see the show that it has gotten more difficult not to talk about the experience."

Also participating were her mother, father, twin sister, and older brother. A younger brother cheered them on from home.

"My family and I had a great experience," she said. "The Family Feud team was so welcoming, and you meet some amazing families. Everyone is rooting for each other, which is awesome."

Constantino said her favorite part was working together as a family, especially when trying to come up with a successful "steal" after the opposing family failed to clear the board.

At the time of filming, she was completing a co-op experience and serving as president of the UI chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

Following her graduation in May, Constantino plans to return to New Jersey, where she has accepted a position as a sales engineer with KEYENCE Corporation's Laser Marking Technology Group.

Looking back on the experience, Constantino is most grateful for the opportunity to share it with her family.

"It is definitely a memory I will never forget," she said.
