How did you choose Iowa for graduate school?
I developed a keen interest in research in the field of sustainable energy and specialized semiconductors, and I was excited to see Dr. Syed Mubeen’s research profile, which motivated me to apply to graduate school at the University of Iowa.

Who has been an influential or inspiring person during your time in engineering?
I look up to my professor, Dr. Mubeen, and my husband, Yash. They have both been constant sources of inspiration throughout my journey in engineering.
Favorite class you have taken at Iowa?
Electrochemical Engineering
What are you interested in pursuing after graduation?
I will continue pursuing my research with the ultimate goal of developing a fully functional nanowire-based hydrogen panel for renewable hydrogen production.
Do you have any advice for incoming graduate students?
Enjoy both the time you spend on your research and the moments outside of school. Striking this sweet balance will help ensure a smooth and fulfilling graduate school experience. Also, make the most of the university's resources—they can go a long way in making your life easier during grad school.
What's your favorite place you have traveled to?
My favorite place is Sedona, where my husband proposed to me.
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy hiking and have had the chance to see some of the most beautiful mountains and waterfalls. I also love dancing—it's a fun and energizing way to express myself.

I’m good at tongue twisters in multiple languages.
