Edward Sander, University of Iowa’s Robert and Virginia Wheeler Faculty Fellow in Engineering, has been appointed as the new editor-in-chief of Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering.
Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering focuses on research that studies how cellular behavior arises from molecular-level interactions to tackle the challenge of improving human health. It is one of four journals published by the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), which is the national society and professional home for biomedical engineers and bioengineers.
Sander, who joined the College of Engineering in 2011, is a professor of biomedical engineering and faculty affiliate of Iowa Institute for Biomedical Imaging and the Iowa Technology Institute.
His research interests span multiple disciplines and include both computational and experimental work. His primary focus is on the role of mechanobiological processes in wound healing, fibrosis, and scar formation
