This week, the University of Iowa and College of Engineering will celebrate generous UI donors with an annual series of campus-wide events highlighting the impact of their philanthropy -- PHIL -- and raising awareness on campus about the importance of private support in the university.

Instead of just one "Phil's Day" this year, the university and the University of Iowa Foundation have planned a weeklong series of events.  They include:

Monday, April 24: Anywhere. Keep your eye out for students and faculty sporting "I am Phil" stickers and ask them why.

Tuesday, April 25: Everywhere. Black and gold bows and signs will represent Phil's impact on people, buildings, and programs.

Wednesday, April 26: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., T. Anne Cleary Walkway.  Faces of Phil.  Students, faculty, and staff members can sign a postcard for a donor, take a Polaroid picture, and "Phil up" with a delicious food-truck lunch.

Thursday, April 27: 3:30 p.m. Pomerantz Career Center, Room C20. "Life with Phil" Talk. Learn more about Phil from media powerhouse Sheri Salata (1980 B.B.A.), the former executive producer of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," and former president of Harpo Studios and the Oprah Winfrey Network. Salata's latest professional venture is the launching of STORY, a media company that produces print, television, film, and digital content. She has been named one of Fast Company's 100 Most Creative People in Business and one of The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Power 100.
