The College of Engineering has appointed two new members to its Advisory Board.
Elizabeth Bernard of Tacoma, WA, is a litigation counsel who has served Google, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, and Darby and Darby. She earned her BSE degree in 2000

in chemical engineering from the University of Iowa and her law degree in 2003 from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law.

Eric Paterson is Aerospace and Ocean Engineering Department Head, Rolls-Royce Commonwealth Professor of Marine Propulsion, and Faculty Affiliate, Hume Center for National Security and Technology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA. He is a three-degree holder from the University of Iowa, a BSE degree in 1987, an MS degree in 1990, and a PhD degree in 1994, all in mechanical engineering. He recently completed service as an advisory board member of IIHR--Hydroscience & Engineering.
The 25-member advisory board provides advice by drawing upon perspectives, knowledge, and experiences from global trends.
