Engineering alumnus Mark Wiesner (MS 1980 civil and environmental  engineering) is the latest College of Engineering graduate to be elected to the prestigious National Academy of Engineering.  There are now eight members who are Engineering alumni, along with faculty member Jerry Schnoor.  Eight additional alumni, now deceased, were elected into the academy previously.

Wiesner is James L. Meriam Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University.  He was elected for contributions to membrane technologies for water treatment and understanding of environmental behavior and risk of nanomaterials.
