Engineering Professional Development hosted the 1st Annual Etiquette Dinner and Awards Banquet honoring College of Engineering student organizations, advisors, company sponsors and student leaders. The event was held in the Feller Club Room of Carver Hawkeye Arena on Thursday, April 23rd. The night included an etiquette dinner presentation by Callista Gould of the Culture and Manners Institute out of Des Moines, dinner and an awards ceremony. What started as an idea to celebrate and recognize the outstanding accomplishments of our student organizations gradually evolved into a celebration of all of the accomplishments related to professional development. Group, individual and industry awards were given out in various categories.
The purpose of the banquet is to foster a strong sense of pride in our college, encourage students to seek out experiences that make them great engineers and leaders, and teach professional development skills through the etiquette dinner.
