What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?
Never be afraid to reach out to professors for advice, they genuinely like to help students succeed.

What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?
I enjoy playing intramural sports and volunteering at the hospital.

Have you had any international experience? If so, where did you go, for how long, and what did you do?
I studied in Madrid, Spain during the Spring semester of 2020. I was able to enjoy the experience for a few months before the pandemic sent me home.

Have you done any research with a professor? If so, what department was the professor and what was your research about?
I am currently doing research with Dr. Sue O’Dorisio in the department of Pediatric Oncology. We are currently testing new targeted radioisotopes for cancer therapies.

Is there something else you'd like to tell us about yourself?
Although I’m from California, I have a lot of family in Iowa.

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?
I love having access to all the resources that a large university has, and then being able to have a more close knit family in the College of Engineering.

Who is your favorite professor and why?
Professor David McCurdy in the department of chemistry. He was always super helpful in office hours, made sure that he was accessible to students, and he was super fun to talk to!

What has been your favorite course?
Introduction to Clinical and Translational Research, we get to discuss the different aspects of medical based research and how it applies to healthcare today.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?
I enjoy trying different restaurants around Iowa City (when they are open), bowling, and playing euchre.
