A Little More About Me

What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?

Get involved! Whether it be through student orgs, the dorms, off-campus, or elsewhere, finding smaller communities based on your interests and hobbies will help you meet friends and make your overall transition to college smoother.

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?

My favorite part of being a student at UIowa is the countless number of opportunities students have on campus. During my time here, I've been in the Hawkeye Marching Band, held numerous leadership positions, and presented at regional and national conferences, just to name a few.

Have you done any research with a professor? If so, what department was the professor and what was your research about?

I conduct research with Professor Jennifer Fiegel of the Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Department. My project's focus is to develop a method to determine how well dry powder aerosols can eradicate regional bacterial.

What organizations inside the college of engineering do you belong to?

I am involved with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Omega Chi Epsilon (OXE, the chemical engineering honors society), and the Artineers.

What has been your favorite or most impactful course?

My favorite course (and probably one of the most impactful, as well) was Heat and Mass Transfer. The material was challenging but really interesting, and the professor and TA's were always willing to answer my many questions.
