The Workbench
Student makerspace designed to ignite innovation, foster collaboration, and provide hands-on learning experiences within the Iowa Engineering community.
Design consultation
- Mechanical: Design and manufacturability consultation that includes design, manufacturing process, and solid modeling services.
- Electrical: Design, technical specifications, and product sourcing consultation for electronics or networking projects.
Fabrication and machining
- 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining
- Laser and Waterjet cutting
- Reverse engineering and Prototype design
- Lab maintenance, repair, support
- UV printing and Name tags
3D printing
- Consumer-grade 3D printing services. Material colors: black, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, beige, and gray.
- Note: We do not edit your print. If you need anything changed or added, please use the Advanced 3D Printing service.
- This is for 3D prints that DO NOT require dissolvable support.
Advanced 3D printing
- Advanced additive printing of parts by optimizing resolution, slicing, materials, and build orientation with the use of commercial-grade 3D printers.
- For 3D prints that require dissolvable support.
Locker rental
Rental of student lockers located in the Seamans Center.
