Preparing a poster and crafting your research pitch for the CoE Research Open House

Are you planning to present a poster at the CoE Research Open House? Whether you are an undergraduate student presenting your research for the first time or an experienced graduate student looking to up your poster and delivery game, join us for a four-week, interactive workshop. We will share best practices for poster design and delivery, and then you will practice and receive feedback in a low-stakes peer environment.

Rehearsal for Reality

Job interview training for undergraduates

In this four-week course, we will talk about what employers are looking for during an interview (and also what tends to make a bad impression). We will analyze and dissect typical behavioral interview questions, such as "Tell me about a time you failed" and workshop strong answers. We will also talk about body language and breath support, and practice mock interviews so that students can put it all together. Limit 10 participants.

Technical Writing Group

Presenting and describing your data and technical writing practice

Are you struggling to communicate your science in a public-facing abstract? Do you need assistance this semester with a journal article about a new experiment? Our group welcomes students to workshop and develop their projects-in-progress in a supportive peer environment. Tutors are present during our weekly sessions to provide resources, feedback, and training on science writing skills.
