Originally from Newton, Iowa, Kevin Meredith graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering with an emphasis in Engineering Economics in Fall 2001. After graduation, Kevin started his career in Coralville at Integrated DNA Technologies where he leveraged his electrical, mechanical, chemical and software engineering skills to develop DNA oligonucleotide synthesizers. In 2006, Kevin moved to Arlington, VA, where he continued utilizing his software and consulting experience to support many federal and commercial customers with Web Application development, Quality Assurance support and Business Process Management support. In 2010, Kevin joined Microsoft as a Technical Account Manager supporting the Department of Homeland of Security (DHS). In this role, Kevin led a team of engineers and consultants that drove the modernization of Microsoft services for DHS and its components. As his career grew, Kevin was named Microsoft's Chief Technology Officer for commercial industries including Healthcare, Defense Industry Base, Media/Entertainment customers as well as DHS.
In 2022, Kevin joined Amazon Web Services as a Sr. Account Executive to support DHS again. This time, Kevin leads the strategy, technology enablement and overall digital transformation and modernization efforts for DHS.
In Kevin’s free time, he is the president of the Capital Area Iowa Club, the DC area Home for the Hawks. He’s served on their board since 2007 and became president in 2014. In 2015, Kevin joined the UIAA’s Board of Directors which evolved into the UICA’s Alumni Leadership Committee.
Outside of his Iowa engagement volunteering, Kevin lives in Arlington, VA, with his wife and fellow Iowa alum, Julie Meredith, their two young children (and future Hawkeyes), Cora and Carter, and their dog, Beau James (named for the Iowa institution where he and Julie met more than 20 years ago).
