The University of Iowa Technology Institute is hosting the 7th International Digital Human Modeling (DHM) Symposium on Aug. 29-30, 2022, followed by the 3rd annual Iowa Virtual Human Summit (IVHS) on Aug. 31, 2022.
DHM focuses on academic presentations in the field of digital human modeling, while IVHS will focus on industry application. The three-day event is hybrid with an in-person option set in the Iowa Memorial Union Second Floor Ballroom on the UI campus, Iowa City, USA. A virtual option is available for those who cannot attend in person. In-person attendance is encouraged. Registration is now open: iti.uiowa.edu/dhm2022/registration.
The International Ergonomics Association's Technical Committee on Digital Human Modeling and Simulation selected the Iowa Technology Institute to host the rotating symposium, which was last held in Skovde, Sweden, and online.
The Scientific Committee for the symposium has accepted 50 abstracts. The presentations are grouped into 10 topic areas: DHM in Production Planning, DHM in Automotive, Body Shape and Anthropometry, DHM in Biomechanics, Hand Modeling, Exoskeletons, DHM Using Finite Element Modeling, DHM in Packaging, DHM Modeling Methods, and Virtual Reality and Digital Twin. Keynote speakers are Col. Kevin A. Bigelman the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Director at the U.S. Army Center for Initial Military Training, and Sébastien Lozé, Unreal Engine Business Director–Simulations at Epic Games.
