National Advanced Driving Simulator (NADS)

is the largest simulator of its type in the world. It has been involved in developing and testing Automated Driving Systems, as well as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems for over 25 years. Such systems can be classified into those that provide information, warning, control, and support. NADS has tested many of these systems and contributed to the development of safety policies for industry and government.

“As an Industrial and Systems Engineering graduate student, I get to apply my knowledge across various domains: from studying human factors to statistical modeling; or from autonomous vehicle research to water sustainability in rural India. All of this is made possible by the dynamic, collaborative, and innovative research initiatives here at Iowa.”
