Michelle Scherer

Michelle Scherer is a professor of civil and environmental engineering and director of the Hanson Center for Communication (HCC). She is an environmental engineer working to provide clean water for all. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in technical communication in the College of Engineering. She has more than two decades of experience working with STEM students to help them effectively communicate their data to a wide range of audiences in a variety of formats (i.e., articles, reports, presentations, figures, 3MTs, posters, etc.). She lives in Iowa City with her husband Craig, their daughters, Kelsey and Josephine, and their dogs, Lilly and Sugar.
