What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?
As a college student, don't be afraid to ask for help. We have so many resources available to students to help you succeed.
What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?
Boy Scouts of America.
Have you had any international experience? If so, where did you go, for how long, and what did you do?
In my junior year of high school I took a trip with my spanish classmates and our teacher to Spain. We visited for 11 days and went to Zaragoza, Toledo, Segovia, and Madrid. I stayed with a host family for four days in Zaragoza during the trip.
How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?
I am involved in a few clubs on campus including AWEA and ASCE corn monument. I am the PR executive officer for AWEA as well. I have completed a summer internship in Engineering.
What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?
I love the community of Iowa City and the people here. The people here really want you to succeed and it shows with the amount of resources we have available to help students.
Who is your favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor is Dr. Seth Dillard. I had him for Mechanics of Deformable Bodies. I liked him as a professor because his teaching style aligned well with my learning style. Additionally, he made the class fun by adding his personality and real world application to each and every lecture!
What has been your favorite course?
Mechanics of Deformable Bodies.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?
In my free time, I enjoy playing overwatch and watching movies with my friends. I enjoy cooking/eating new recipes of foods as well.
