PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The exhibit honors the late Candace Carmichael, a long-time art educator in the Iowa City Community School District, who died in 2011. She was the wife of Greg Carmichael, Karl Kammermeyer Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and co-director of the UI Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research. The exhibit features more than 100 pieces of art created by Iowa City Public School students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Candace Carmichael taught in the Iowa City Community School District since 1978, first at South East Junior High School and at various elementary schools in her career. This program is open to all.
