Ethics in Product Liability: A Whistleblowing Case Study

Law students from the University of Iowa College of Law will be presenting on the topic of ethics in product design. This presentation will cover the concept of whistleblowing, including a detailed examination of the Boeing case study and its ethical implications. Attendees will learn about the protections available to employees who speak up about unethical practices, the appropriate times to raise concerns, and the importance of compliance in preventing engineering failures. Additionally, the presentation will provide information on the individual protections available to those who report wrongdoing, aiming to equip participants with a thorough understanding of the ethical challenges in product design and the mechanisms in place to safeguard integrity and safety.
