On Sept. 18, 2021, FREIGHT FRENZY, Presented by Raytheon Technologies, will be revealed with the release of Game Manual Part 2 and Field Assembly Guides. These items can be found on the FIRST website for the Game Manuals Part 1 & 2 (Remote and Traditional Format). 


  • All teams, who want to compete in the FTC program, are required to register with FIRST by logging into their FIRST Dashboard. If you need to change contact information, you can do so, when logged into the FIRST system.
  • Teams must also register with FTC-Iowa. Iowa registration information.

*Note: FIRST collects a registration fee of $275 per team. However, this registration fee stays at FIRST Headquarters in Manchester, NH. In order to cover our local (Iowa) costs, the FTC-Iowa program need to also charge a registration fee per team.*

COVID-19 Information

The goal for the 2021-2022 FTC Season is to have as many in-person events as possible. Modifications may need to be made - such as remote judging but in-person matches and pits - but the goal is to have as much in-person as possible.

Per CDC recommendations, face masks are encouraged for those who have not been vaccinated.

Season Information

In Iowa, the number of FTC teams determines how many events are hosted and how many teams participate at those events. Below is a breakdown of the quantity of events and the size of each of those events

  100-119 competing teams 120-167 competing teams  168-200 teams

*Some teams have registered with FIRST, but due to other circumstances, they decided not to compete this season.
