What is Human Factors?


The International Ergonomics Association provides this definition: "Ergonomics (or human factors) is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data, and other methods to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance."

Provider workflow and patient care: impact of Electronic health information

Amirmasoud Momenipour

Amirmasoud Momenipour, a PhD student in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Iowa presented a poster in annual HFES Conference October 26-30, 2015, in Los Angeles, CA. His research focus is on the impact of Electronic Health Iformation Systems on Providers' workflow and patient care. Amir's research was conducted under supervision of professor Priyadarshini Pennathur.
